Coaching: Lewiston/Auburn
Free weekly coaching sessions for Maine Track Club members will be held again in 2010 on Tuesday evenings from April 20 through September under the direction of Bob Brainerd, a certified athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist and sports physiologist. Bob works with a diverse group of runners and walkers and can help participants of all levels gear a program that suits their fitness level.
Non-MTC members are welcome to attend one session but must join the club if they wish to participate in subsequent sessions. Club members are asked to bring their membership card to the first coaching session they attend.
Participants should arrive early enough to do a proper warmup before the coaching session starts at 6 p.m. Bob will then lead the group through stretching and form drills before the meat of the workout.
Here are directions to Edward Little:
- Take Route 202 north into Auburn, or take the Auburn turnpike exit and turn left onto Route 202
- From the turnpike exit, drive four miles, go straight through a yield sign and turn left onto Minot Ave., immediately after Roy's Hamburgers
- After about one-tenth of a mile on Minot Ave., turn right onto Western Ave., then drive another .3 miles and turn right at Auburn Heights
